Career Services organises events, workshops and info sessions. The themes of the events are career and employment.

In this list you can find upcoming events aimed at international students. The Career Services' own career events and those of companies and other organizations aimed at students and recent graduates can be found on the JobTeaser career portal.

HelsinkiUNI Career Day – Campus Day

Please note that the programme in Finnish and in English is different.

During the day, you can meet employers who are  interested in University of Helsinki students, learn about finding a job in Finland,  get information about Akava's Start to Finnish online course and talk about your PhD with peers. You can also book a time for the CV/LinkedIn clinic, where HR experts from companies provide personal feedback. Get inspired, network, and discover your career opportunities in just one day!

Time: January 19, 2026, at 9.00 -  18.00
Event Locations: Porthania (Yliopistonkatu 3), lobby, rooms P III, Suomen Laki, P114 (Urbarium), and P219 (Lehtisali/Teachers Lounge), and the University Main Building (Fabianinkatu 33)  Studium 1. Accessibility information for the events can be found in the descriptions of the sessions.

    We hire around 20-30 Interns every year. Typically we have intern positions open throughout the year but majority of the positions are open for the Summer period. It is also sometimes possible to work part-time alongside with the studies.  
  • European Chemicals Agency, ECHA
    Come and talk to ECHA staff to learn how you can start your career at a European Union agency working at the heart of chemical safety and sustainability in Europe. You will have the chance to ask questions, hear about our day-to-day work, and explore current vacancies, upcoming opportunities, and traineeships. ECHA offers career opportunities for graduates from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including scientific fields (such as chemistry, toxicology, biology, environmental science, and economics) and administrative fields (such as law, communications, finance, human resources, and ICT).

    For students and recent graduates The City of Helsinki offer, for example, summer jobs and internships. Every summer, around 3,500 summer workers are employed by the city. The application period for summer jobs starts in January or February.
  • University of Helsinki
    Come and chat with us about what kinds of career opportunities and open positions we have. You will find a wide range of interesting options for a career in research and teaching as well as in specialist and support functions with us.
  • Nokia
    Come and hear about our summer trainee positions.We are interested in students from the following fields, among others: Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics and Physics. We offer approximately 500 internships annually in Finland, at our offices in Espoo, Tampere and Oulu.

    Our summer job positions are suitable for students from various fields of study. You can apply to us regardless of where you are in your studies; we hire for our summer positions from first-year students to those in the final stages of their studies and recent graduates. You don't need prior experience in the financial sector; what matters most is your interest in the field and a willingness to learn. We offer a wide range of summer job opportunities for students from different fields, including customer service, background tasks, risk management, asset management, development, communication, marketing, and human resources.

Please note that the programme in Finnish and in English is different.

During the virtual Career Day, you will have the opportunity to learn how to find a job in Finland, get information about career opportunities in Natural Resources Instute Finland (Luke) and University of Helsinki, and hear about Akava's Start to Finnish online course. You can also book an appointment with Luke for a one-to-one meeting. The event offers a flexible way to receive up-to-date information and discover new directions for your studies and career – all conveniently from your own device.
