Degree programme-specific traineeship instructions

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

All first-cycle degrees at the University of Helsinki include a period of career studies (5 credits), which refers to a traineeship or a career-related project. All second-cycle degrees include career orientation and career planning. Practical training in your degree programme (FOOD)

Practical training in Food Sciences, FOOD-115, 2-4 credits

The course is one of the optional courses in the Food Sciences advanced studies. Recommended timing is during the 1st or the 2nd year. Practical training is recommended for summer.

The host organisation can be in the food industry or other enterprise, institute or authority. Also laboratory work can be included.

Minimum duration of practical training is one month (one month equals one credit). If you want to apply for the University's traineeship subsidy, the traineeship must last for at least two months.

Before training please contact the responsible teacher (according to the study module), who will ensure that the traineeship is suitable. 

One credit will be awarded for a written report.
