AI is increasingly influencing academic practices, yet we still know relatively little about how students experience the use of AI, particularly from the perspectives of supervision, learning, and the thesis process.
In order to provide students with appropriate support for thesis work in the age of AI, we invite students who are currently writing or have already submitted a master’s or licentiate thesis to participate in a university‑wide study examining the opportunities and challenges of AI in thesis work and supervision.
By participating in the study, you help ensure that the diversity of student perspectives and disciplinary differences are taken into account in the development of thesis supervision practices. Your perspective is valuable regardless of whether you use AI or not.
- Survey for students who are currently writing or have submitted a master’s thesis (Webropol)
- Survey for students who are currently writing or have submitted a licentiate thesis (Webropol)
Completing the survey takes approximately 20 minutes, and it is available in Finnish, Swedish, and English. Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be treated confidentially. We kindly ask you to complete the survey by 31 May.
The research is conducted by AI-THESIS Research Group at the Centre for University Teaching and Learning (HYPE).
