The Dare to Speak Swedish-campaign ended at the Swedish Summer party
The year 2025 had the theme Year of Language Awareness at the University of Helsinki, which inspired the Dare to speak Swedish campaign. The purpose of the campaign was to strengthen the position of the Swedish language at the university and encourage both students and staff to use Swedish in everyday life. Languages that are seen and heard are languages that are taught!
The “Dare to Speak Swedish” campaign ended during the Swedish Summer party at Viikin kartano on June 4th, 2026, where the most active participant was also recognized. The person who was most active during the campaign was Vladimir Kshnyakin, a master’s student in history.
The campaign group would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has participated in the “Dare to Speak Swedish” campaign and, of course, encourages everyone to continue “Daring to Speak Swedish”!
