The curriculum period changes on 1 August 2026: check how to register for autumn term courses

The curriculum defines the structure and learning objectives of your degree, as well as the objectives, content, and assessment methods of the study modules and individual courses included in the degree. Curricula are valid for four years.

The new curriculum period for the academic years 2026–2030 will begin on 1 August 2026. From the beginning of August, all teaching will be organised in accordance with the new curriculum.

Before registering for courses in the first teaching period, update the course units in your study plan in Sisu to match the new curriculum period. This ensures that you can find the courses offered in the upcoming term:

  1. Open your study plan on the Structure of studies tab in Sisu.
  2. Check that the course units included in your plan have been updated to the 2026–2030 curriculum versions (see instructions for updating versions if needed).
  3. Add any missing course units to the structure if necessary.
  4. Register for course units through your study plan during the registration period.

Changes to registration in Sisu

With the start of the new curriculum period, there will also be slight changes to Sisu registration practices. From 1 August, it will no longer be possible to register for courses via the search function; instead, registration must always be initiated from your own study plan.

  • The easiest way to find teaching is through the course search in the Studies Service. You can still search for courses in Sisu, but you cannot register via the search results.
  • Registration will always be initiated in Sisu through your own study plan.
  • When you find a course you want to register for, first add the course to your study plan in Sisu and then select the completion method. Finally, confirm your registration on the Registration page.
